In the last hours The International Cooperative Alliance has launched the logo for the United Nations International Year of Cooperatives and the guidelines for their use, as stipulated by the UN Committee for the Promotion of Cooperatives (Copac).
The words “International Year of Cooperatives” appear below the logo along with the year 2025. It consists of three colours, inspired by the graphic identity of the Sustainable Development Goals, according to the ICA.
Red represents the social aspect, blue represents the economic aspect and green represents the environment. This reflects the three dimensions in which cooperatives contribute to sustainable development.
The logo is now available in Spanish, English, French, Arabic, Chinese and Russian, while Copac is developing a specific website for AIC2025, which is scheduled to be launched in November.
Guidelines and request for use of the logo
Any entity other than the UN wishing to use the AIC logo for informational and/or fundraising purposes must submit a application form or with a disclaimer, which must be signed and uploaded at the end of the form.
Please note that approval may take between one and two weeks to be granted. Applications will be processed in the order received.
Once the application has been approved and the disclaimer received, the AIC Secretariat will send the applicant the link to download the logo files that can be used for promotional purposes during the celebration of the Year.
By completing the form, each organization accepts full responsibility for understanding and following the official guidelines and ensuring that all of its members do the same.
The AIC Secretariat will answer any questions by email copac@copac.coop.
