Cooperative model: Response to global crises

The I Cooperative Summit of the Americas, "The Cooperative Model: response to world crises," held in Guadalajara, Mexico, from September 21 to 25, 2009, was a successful experience in which they had the opportunity to demonstrate the potential and the willingness to dialogue of the people who give life to the Cooperative Movement in the region.

This experience, beyond being a meeting point for cooperative members, represented an opportunity to make a multidimensional analysis of world crises, in which there was the possibility of generating an exchange of ideas that showed an important participatory exchange, which which reflected the interest in moving from words to deeds with a series of proposals made in the thematic axes of the Summit: the new development paradigms, growth and sustainability, as well as with the core theme that cooperative organization means for economic and social development.
