In a new meeting of the Regional Committee on Gender Equity for all member organizations of the International Cooperative Alliance (ICA) in the Americas, a webinar was held to share experiences and tools related to the care economy.
The keynote speaker was Sonia Brucke, Deputy Minister of Equality and Non-Discrimination of the Ministry of Women of Paraguay, who shared the background, current situation, and action plan of the Ministry of Women of the Republic of Paraguay.
These initiatives are part of Paraguay's National Care Policy (PNCUPA 2030), which includes a draft law currently under development.
"Cooperatives can become key players in providing care services for early childhood, older adults, and/or people with disabilities, and for groups in vulnerable situations," the official stated.
More than 50 people from 23 countries participated in the event, representing cooperatives, social economy organizations, women's networks, and public entities.
