Cooperatives of the Americas presents the publication "Evolution of the cooperative sector between the International Years of Cooperatives 2012–2025: Public policies, regulations, new associative forms and socioeconomic initiatives”.
In the International Year of Cooperatives 2025, this book constitutes the first installment of a series of studies promoted by the call for research papers carried out in 2024, with the purpose of gathering reflections, analysis and evidence on the contribution of cooperatives in the last decade and a half.
A regional perspective
The work brings together contributions from researchers from Argentina, Brazil, Chile, Mexico, and Paraguay and offers a tour of the transformations within the global cooperative movement since the 2012 commemoration. It addresses changes in public policies, regulatory frameworks, associative dynamics, and socioeconomic experiences that have paved the way for the new International Year.
This research highlights the sector's historical contribution and promotes transformative agendas that position cooperativism as a key player in achieving the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).

With this work, Cooperatives of the Americas invites partners, researchers, and strategic allies to deepen the debate on the role of cooperativism in building more just, inclusive, and sustainable societies, reaffirming its relevance in the face of current challenges.

Launch of the Investigation
