Cooperative Education and Research in the Americas

Cooperatives of the Americas promotes the management of cooperative knowledge in the region, through the promotion and dissemination of educational, training and research initiatives. In this space you will find information on consultations and research, participate and build cooperative knowledge, which is key to building an inclusive and sustainable movement. 

 

Evolution of the cooperative sector between the International Years of Cooperatives 2011-2025: Public policies, regulations, new associative forms and socioeconomic initiatives

We present the first input developed within the framework of the research "Evolution of the cooperative sector in the Americas between the International Years of Cooperatives 2012-2025."

 

This publication generated within the framework of the #Coops4dev Project, It offers valuable evidence of how cooperatives respond to current challenges with creativity, responsibility, and a deep sense of territorial belonging. At the same time, it opens the door to new opportunities for coordination between the cooperative movement and development policies, promoting the consolidation of spaces for participation, innovation, and social justice that strengthen the collective impact of cooperatives in building a more sustainable future. 

Call for papers: Evolution of the cooperative sector in the Americas during the international years of cooperatives

Within the framework of the investigation "Evolution of the cooperative sector in the Americas between the International Years of Cooperatives 2012-2025", we are receiving articles on Strategic Objective 3.


We seek to identify training programs, initiatives, and partnerships that have promoted cooperative identity in the region, before and after 2012.

Call for young researchers

Cooperatives, being people-centred enterprises, have proven to be an effective model for promoting sustainable development at a global level. Researching and promoting knowledge management in cooperative environments is therefore a way to foster sustainable development.

 

This call seeks to identify people interested in researching from two specific approaches: 

  • Formal and non-formal education, training, knowledge exchange and training alliances:  
  • Society's perception of the contribution of cooperatives to sustainable development

Cooperatives of the Americas is mapping cooperative education and training initiatives. If your organization promotes courses, careers or training programs, report it here and become part of the cooperative education node in the Americas for AIC 2025.

This research is part of the #Coops4dev Project, its objective is to provide an innovative overview of the evolution, new sectors and priority socioeconomic themes, as well as new practices associated with cooperatives and their actions in the Americas between the two International Years of Cooperatives (2012 and 2025), given the objectives pursued in each of those years.
