22 Regional Conference of Cooperatives of the Americas

November 4 and 5, 2021

About the event

Rebuilding better together with the principles and responses of cooperatives of  the Americas to the crisis generated by COVID-19.

The 22 Regional Conference of Cooperatives of the Americas that will be held on November 4 and 5, 2021 will be the first 100% virtual due to COVID-19 Pandemic and the correlated crisis that it has generated.

The global crisis derived from the pandemic is a holistic, systemic one: it began affecting the health sector, but immediately manifested its consequences in terms of employment, migration, environment, social cohesion, economic systems, finance: it is the deepest crisis since the fall of the Berlin Wall.

The cooperatives of the Americas and the entire system that we represent responded mobilizing and putting into action the cooperative values and principles, namely our identity, but also our best features: resilience, innovation, member services, financial and social assets.

Hence, from these elements and actions we want to restart, giving our contribution to the global agenda for recovery: to the UN “People, Planet, Prosperity” Agenda, which is also the G20 Agenda as well as the one of the European Union, but advocating it with our models, our proposals and tools in order to draw economic models and post-pandemic societies to be + inclusive, + sustainable and that could truly benefit people and their territories.
